Are the seats on the Uly's interchangeable (independent of model year)? I was thinking of getting a 2006 Tall seat (I'm 6'3") if it will fit on the 2008. Expecting my 2008 Uly to arrive any day now! Can't wait! Cheers! |

'06 and '07 seats are definitely interchangeable, and I think the '08 seat is the same as the '07. So yes, they are interchangeable. I have an '06 seat as a long-distance seat for my '07. Anyone, please correct me if I'm wrong. |

I think you're right FL. I sat on an 08 today at the local shop. It seems to be the same seat as the 07. The 06 "tall" seat is still my favorite. |

08uly, Have you sat on an 06 seat? It places you about 1 1/2" closer to the handlebars. I prefer the extra reach of the 07/08 seat but you may not. |

I have a 2006 stock (tall) seat (black & yellow) which is too tall for me. I bought a 2006 low seat but have heard that the newer low seats are more comfortable. I would trade my tall seat for a newer low seat. |

I just installed my seat from Bill mayer. It took him about 1 week from when he received it from me. About 12 working days total. The seat is great, just a little higher that my old Buell low seat |

I bought a stock seat off EBay and sent it to mayer. The stock seat cover material that they use is really nice. I will post some pics this weekend |

Since we're talking about seats, is there a difference between the stock '07/'08 seat and the "Low" seat offered in accessories? Thanks, EV |

The low seat in the accessories section is the standard seat for the 07/08 models. The high seat is available as optional from the stores. For some reason, they have not updated the website for the current models. |

No, the low seat is different than the other seats. The low seat is a tad lower than the 07 seat. Also the low seat has a nice texture to match my carbon fiber and the passenger part is leather. |

Aren't the seat pans for an 06 standard and low seat the same? |

Seat pans look the same for the low seat and the 07 seat, so i assume the 06 seat is the same. |

I'm 6 feet tall, but my height is in my back, so my inseam is about 31. I still am on my tiptoes unless I am loaded down. I obviously would prefer a lower seat and friend in Southern Cal is talking with a local dude who lowered his seat another inch. If I recall correctly when the dealer showed me a new 06 he said he would swap the lower seat off a new Uly, so I would say they do swap out. JB |

Hi, folks, I'm a Blaster looking at a touring rig and am considering only two bikes, the KTM 990 Adventure and the Uly. The problem is, the KTM I can reach the ball of my foot and tiptoes onto the ground but the Uly keeps me all the way up on the tip of my tip toes, not a very safe arrangement. The seat distance from peg to bottom, however, is just fine and I'm not sure a short saddle would keep the distance and keep my knees happy. Can the suspension height be lowered to make my feet more secure without screwing up the comfortable leg angle on the seat? |

Rainman, Consider the TT. I think it would make a fine 1 up touring rig with some soft luggage on it. If not, you can install the TT suspension on the Uly. There was a thread where someone did that. You do give away some ground clearance and suspension travel with that swap. |

Skip the TT and lower the Uly. On the TT you lose the spacious cockpit of the Uly (check the footpeg to seat relationship of the two), lose the stock wind protection and the multiple aftermarket options, lose the passenger space, and lose the nice luggage options. I've lowered the Uly 1-1/2"; first with an XB9 rear shock and then with a custom modified Uly shock. I raised the forks 1-1/4" in the triple clamps. You need to raise the handlebars accordingly. I used two upper handlebar clamps without changing cables. Rox risers would work too. Also need to take 1 to 1 1/4" out of the side stand. Or you can go to a Multistrada 620. It's a wonderful bike also. |
