I believe that the 1125R belt idler is actually a spring or torsion spring device. Why they haven't done this for the 2008 ULY is a good question. I like that European aftermarket ULY belt tensioner except for it's very high price. |

Or how 'bout the 2008 XB9SX primary gearing of 1.500, same as the Uly. Hope the 2007 primary gears are still available. |

It appears to be solidly mounted in this photo: IIRC, from the beginning Buell engineers have said that spring loading that pulley goes against the whole premise of the thing. |

Actually with the solid mounted tensioner you may have some warning of impending belt failure. There was a thread on Advrider where a guy had slop in his belt. He took the belt off and found it was tearing on the inside and ready to break. If you had a self adjusting tensioner you would have no warning. |
