From the press release:
quote:A new progressive throttle cam and new throttle cables provide smoother throttle input from stops, and less rotation to full throttle.
I need to replace my throttle cable anyway, and I'd like to have this. Does anyone know what parts I need to replace? Is it just the throttle cable and the twisty part of the handgrip that I'm sure has a name? |

I agree, this would be a great upgrade. Not sure if the dealers have the new part numbers yet for the 08's. Probably have to wait for a couple of months if I was to take a guess. I hope I'm wrong on this one... |

Having worked in product design and in manufacturing, let me just say that a product roll out, especially one with the fan fair of the Homecoming, is a tenuous hand-to-mouth affair. Product builds for shipment to dealers and initial sales, service tech training, documentation such as service parts manuals, setting up service parts kits - these all take enormous effort and coordination. Throw in new suppliers and wow, things can soon be out of control quite easily. Expecting the local Buell dealership to have service parts for a bike they have not even received yet, well, it is just not likely. My guess is it will be September before you can get such parts in hand. I would not want to wait until then to ride my 06-07 Uly in need of a cable. |

Well, it's needed a cable for the last year. It works, but I don't like the way it adjusts. It doesn't spring back with the force I think it should. Adjustment makes it better, but not great. So I'm gonna try a new cable. If I have to wait a few months it won't kill me. But hopefully Andy can order the parts for me. Buell is already manufacturing the 08 models, so at least the parts exist. |

It doesn't appear the '08 throttle is retrofitable. The altered cam profile is on the throttle body instead of the twist grip. Bummer. |
