The bottom photo looks like the 9 series pipe. |

My 9 doesn't look like that. --Sean |

I noticed that too. The lower photo sure appears to have smaller pipes. I wonder which one the production bikes will have? |

smaller and much different curve as the pipe leaves the engine |

It also appears the new headers are coated. Can anyone confirm that? |

I believe the top picture is computer generated. Mabe a pre-production configuration that needed to be re-piped to get the proper back-pressure. |

No Buell headers are coated, they are stainless and get a golden hue after use. --Sean |

I believe the top picture is computer generated. If you look at the photo of chadhargis you will notice the 08 show bike has the old style headers. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/290460.html?1183984256} |

I remember the header looking like the one in the top picture as I toured the factory last Friday. |

I concur with Maximum on the header looking more like the top photo during a factory tour. |

Something is up with that 2-up pick. Maybe they slipped out an image of an XB9X. Smaller diameter and wierd curve. Why would they create another set of headers? They should have plenty of the 12 headers laying around. |

I was at the factory on Friday (with wife and son) and the smaller diameter pipes were on the XB9 bikes. I remember talking about it with my wife and boy. Way smaller diameter. I don't remember the silver pipes on the 2008 ULYs I saw but could have been. By the way, the $105 for the Buell homecoming tickets was an all out bargain and even my wife was impressed and that's hard thing to do. My ULY ran, idled, and performed flawlessly for the entire trip of just under 1300 miles. My bike has about 7000 miles on it and never has had a TPS reset since I bought it new in October of 2005. The traffic on I94 from Racine to Milwaukee was just insane. Road America was awesome to say the least and Buell hospitality was peerless at both the factory and at the track. 6 thumbs up from the Alberhasky family. |

Smaller dia pipes are on the European spec bike I think. |

I talked to a Buell tech at the factory and asked about the header since it looked different. He told me that there wasn't any change in the header and that they looked like they were coated because the pipes had not been exposed to the engine heat yet and that after the test at the end of the line they all would start to change color. He said that he was asked that same question by several people taking the tour. Electreglider, I too was very impressed by all the hard work the Buell employees put into the 2007 Homecoming and will be writing letters to both Laura Dennison and Jon Flickenger later today to express my thanks for such a great event. Already looking forward to next year's homecoming! Don |
