After trying to get the 07 Airbox cover 2 weeks ago from the closest Buell dealer to me I stopped into the shop. I find the parts guy and ask him about my order, tells me its on back order and that it may be one more week. This is after I called last week asking about it. Wanted to get it from them to get the emc flashed at the same time. I talk to the guy a bit more and see one other pars guy listening to us. Parts guy 1 walks away and parts guy 2 tells me he forgot to send the order in and I am getting jerked around. WTF, I cancel and walk out. The next closest place to me is 3 hours away. I guess I have no option but to get the diagnostic scan tool and go it alone or drive 3 hours. Anyone up this way? I am in Lake Placid NY. Rant over, have a nice day Horr |

I say order it online. Find a good dealership and have them ship it to you. Also, ask the board for help from others in the area. You might get lucky and have someone near that can flash it for you. |

Have you tried Potsdam? That is where I went. Maybe it was just a bad day for them or.... I just did not get a very warm feeling about them caring about a Buell. I think I may almost have to give them a second shot, or drive 3 hours for warrenty/service work. Have you had good luck there? Have a name of a Tech? Thanks Horr |

You're 2 hours from Montreal, Do you hate us Canucks that bad? Anyways, let me know if you want me to call around, I'll ship it for ya too. There's like 5 dealerships in the greater MTL region, I'm in good with one, know the owners. (Message edited by adamd on June 08, 2007) (Message edited by adamd on June 08, 2007) |

Have you looked at the VDSTS from americansportbike for $195? http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/9305.html I've been thinking about getting it because I hate having to rely on a dealer. I've got a buddy that lives in Potsdam and he tells me that Sovie's is a good dealer. I had to tell him that I went to college near there and remember stopping by on my '72 Honda CB350 a few times to drool over Interceptors. I had painted the bike light blue metallic, and was speechless when Sovie himself asked me, "What the hell color is that!!" I used to go out back and look at the wrecked bikes and wish I could afford one! Anyway, hope you get it worked out. Good luck. |

I guess I forgot to mention that I've had excellent results with buying parts from Appleton, a sponsor here. Go to Topics/Sponsors/Appleton/Andy I need it now thread. |

Thanks for the info and offers guys. I have talked with Sovie's again and I think it was just a misunderstanding. I plan on getting the VDSTS at some point but the visa is a little hot right now from all the other things that pop up after not riding for 7 years. I also should think of Montreal a little more and get that passport cooking. Saw my first other Uly this week, guy from Montreal, was that you Adamd? Horr |

I was in Sovie's yesterday and was not impressed with the entire operation. I just walked out. I was also in North End in Platsburg, they looked to be better. Aren't they the parent dealership for Lake City (yes they are)? Have you had problems with them? They can't be three hours away. You must be talking about McDermott's, in Fort Ann. I was there yesterday also, as well as Iron Block in Adams Center. I get around. The plus I see with them is that they are strictly H-D/Buell where the other two are multi-manufacturer retailer/servicers. The impression I got at Sovie's is that they have way too many irons in the fire and are very understaffed. There were people (other than me) that were standing there willing to hand them money, but no one would give us the time of day. John (owner) yelled at one of the employees to get to work, the customer had been there all day. The employee mumbled something about what if he was dead or something to which John replied that if he was dead at least he would replace him with someone who would work. Of the four I found Sovie's to be the least likely place I would go. |

LOL that is what I am talking about Lazylion. I went to them first to start a relationship if warranty work was needed. Figured I get a part have a flash and we talk but that is not going to happen. I have no issue going to Platsburg which is an hour away or Iron Block, which is in my parents back yard. Horr |

Sovie,s called Friday to tell me that after a month they had got the 07 air box cover in that I had called about. Odd thing is I had a B-Day party to go to about 10 mins from there shop yesterday so I figured I would stop in and get the cover and ECM flash. I walk in the front watching as some guy mows the lawn with shit going all over peoples bikes outside. Get ignored at the front desk, told I am not on file, "has to ask John about this" (only 1 that may have a clue there). They find the part had it to me, I asked about the ECM and John said bring it around. I am then told after 5 mins of "where is the hookup??" that it can not be flashed to set the air/fuel ratio to 07 levels. ?????? I say OK and RUN THE HELL OUT OF THERE. I did not want they touching my bike anymore. Question, can a HD place that does not sell Buells do the flash, do they have the software? Horr |
