Ecliptech has some cool ideas for running both headlights. They place a device that you can tune or select the amount of high beam that you want to show when running your low beam light. I sent an email to see if they had done anything yet for Buells and they said no but don't see why it wouldn't work. Here is a link to explanation of how the item works for Triumps: http://www.triumph675.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=5453&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=twinlight&start=0 Here is his question back to me. Can anyone help with a response? Hi Mark, We have had Hondas, Yamahas and Kawasakis fitted before. No reason a Buell couldn't be added to that list. The Triumph version has connections which suit the bulbs it uses and it's wiring. For other bikes, it may require a fused connection from the battery to avoid any wiring issues. Do you know what type of bulbs you have? (Message edited by iugradmark on June 04, 2007) |

Windrider: Here is a follow-up question. Do you know the answer: Hahaa... H7 bulbs are usually used for low beam (dipped). Commonly, if a H7 is used, a H9 bulb is used for a high beam. Would definitely be worth confirming this before proceeding. Cheers, Tony |

Sounds like a cool idea, but it looks like the level of light is not adjustable on the fly. Most of the time full bright is exactly what I need. |

www.Rallylights.com sells an H9 bulb on an H7 base rated at 65 watts, and it fits right in the Uly. I ran both on high for several months before installing the DeathRay. |

Chief, I think it was noted in the description in the past, but now it isn't. http://www.rallylights.com/hella/H7.asp CP64217 H7 Bulb, 12V, 65W, Hyper by Osram, 2100 Lumens, each $25.15 As you can see, it is the only H7 rated at 65 watts as Treadmarks mentioned. |

The best bulbs in the world will still have their limits with the stock reflectors and lenses. The low beam fluted reflector with the 65w H7 from rally is great for close up, but to reach out you would need to find a free form reflector to create a spot beam. I have seen the correct free form reflector in a rechargeable flashlight that might be able to fit into the stock housing. I will take apart my stock unit and see if I can fit a freeform reflector in it, just to see what the beam pattern looks like. It may just turn out to be a low cost solution. Could never beat the DeathRay tho.

F Lime, Yeah a stock bulb. I happened to be at the HD bend and plug, when I noticed the low beam was burned out. |

The death ray is a hell of a set up. I ride with a guy that has them, meaning I get to bask in it by proxy. They are BRIGHT. |
