left off my Uly to install the new TT forks and shock, so I figured I would have them do the 1000 mile service since I just hit 1300. Anyway, since I just did the TPS reset a couple of 100 miles ago I asked for them not to do it. They got pissed!!! I hate to break it to them that I do not really trust them that much |

It might be to your advantage to find out who is the most Buell-certified mechanic (technician?) there and, going forward, insist that only that one person touch your Buell. Maybe bring donuts on Saturday to the Service Manager. Have a friendly talk with him. Make him aware that you know a thing or two about Buells and that you are actually contracting his labor to work on your bike. Maybe that'll do some good? |

Why would they get pissed? I mean, they will still charge you the sheet labor anyway....right? LOL |

Keep in mind that these guys do this for a living and don't like an amateur telling them what to do or why they should deviate from the standard operating procedure. Just like Sparky says, build a relationship first, then try to use a little light leverage. |

sorry to say this but the dealer is 1 hour away, and if I let them do it and they do screw up, I loose alot of time. So no chance building much of a relationship. I actually tried that in the begining when I needed the XB9 gearing installed. I tried to get them to agree to take the bike first thing friday morning and me wait around to ride home. They wouldn't go for it, they wanted the bike for a full day since they had never done that job before. Come on, all that involved was changing the gears, same as every sporty. Should have been no big deal. Then tried to get a race muffler, they told me flat out, it will not work on the Uly, they did not bother to find out why. End result it works fine, all I had to do was create a bit of clearance for the pully, no big deal. They were not happy about the TPS, the comment was "don't complain when it starts running crappy". Plus, the counter guy is never the guy who will work on the bike, he just checks you in and does paperwork. Seriously, I love this bike alot, but realistically, the major problem Buell has is the link to Harley. Many of the small problems with this bike come from harley mentality. example 1 : the key on the front side of the bike so you have to lay over the bike to start it? (Harley around 1930 or 40?) This bike could and should be right up there with it's competitors. |

Well I'm getting my first service with my Buell dealer this week. They didn't have any openings until June 21, but said that if I can leave it there a few days, that they could get it in this week. So I will drop it off after work tomorrow and hopefully have it back by Friday. My dealer has a few people that are into Buells and most of the rest really seem interested in them. |

Cavi I think I know the dealer you are talking about and I agree with you. They can be very rude. I have also been treated poorly by the service department. |
