I don't know why people post about this stuff but I figured I'd go along with it and post my story. Had an 04 XB12S, never dropped 10k miles, loved it, great summer and a half of riding. So my 06 XBX has been rockin' socks I didn't really follow break in procedure but it still works so no harm no foul. Riding home late last night, 80 degrees dark and I had my damn dark shield on which was also caked with bugs. Pulled up to the house, flashed the lights at the windows and revved the motor, no luck on having my dear open the door for me. Go to set my bike on it's sidestand and doh! Laid her down. I had my mountain bike strapped to the bike, left wheel where passenger left leg goes one wheel on the right side, then bike strapped with loop ratchets to the top box mount. Laid it down so gently not only is there not a scratch anywhere on it, I didn't destroy my mountain bike. Yay. |

yeah, that sucks. I lit mine up and walked away while it was warming up... CRASH into the side of my tacoma. Over $700 in damage to the truck. $500 deductable. Ouch. I'm curious how you have your MTB mounted to the bike. Any pics? I've been wanting to tote my rocky mountain with me to work so I can ride from there.... |

OK you lose a few points for dropping the Uly, but you gain back about ten times as many for using it to haul your MTB. I gotta go try that; it's really cool! |
