1. Anyone here use a rear paddock stand? If so what kind works the best? 2. Hearing sound clips only helps so much and I want to replace the exhaust but I do not want something that is "wake the dead" loud. What recommendations do you make? You can get the jardines for a song but I have no idea about them. I have run MANY aftermarket exhausts but this is my first Buell and this would be my first Jardine. 3. My Uly did not come with the toolkit and the muffler removal instructions state that you need to use the "special" tool from the "kit" to loosen the rear axle to release the belt tension. Is this "special" tool something that I can buy separately. Thanks Ken | ||

I am super happy with the drummer exhaust. Kevin is a great guy,the quality is the best I've seen,the sound is perfect like deep thunder and the more you open the throttle the louder it gets. In my opinion it sounds like it should. I also had doubts about getting an exhaust w/o hearing it first but I did some research and I made the best choice.I also use a pitbull stand I dont know if it's the best but it works good for me and also has plenty of options you can get for it. | ||

Ken, look again for the tool kit! It's hidden and is hard to find. I went back to my dealer and told them I didn't get a tool kit and when they removed my seat, it was there but very hard to find since it's such a small pouch and is tucked away. | ||

Mine was really hidden in there too. I had to move a bunch of wires and stuff to get it out. I never even saw it until I went searching for it. I put it inside the stow-n-go bag for accessibility. | ||

Nope no toolkit present........was hoping it was there but no such luck. Why people do not leave toolkits in their bikes I will never know. Did find that my rear cylinder PCV valve was leaking. So I pulled the airbox off to check that out. Do you have to stand on one leg while holding a live chicken to remove the PCV or do you have to remove motor from motorcycle? I have all the other tools I need guess I will have to make a rear axle tool. I can probably make one cheaper than what I can buy one for. | ||

I also use the Buell Race can, it sounds great, louder than stock, but not loud enough to piss off police/neighbors. | ||

When I got my Uly the dealer ordered a new tool kit as mine didn't have one.We both searched everywhere (I thought!) for it. After break in the bags arrived and the new tool kit. The day at the shop they handed it to me I saw a tiny patch of blue just like it buried way down. I had to pull the old one out with a pair of needle nose! | ||

Hooliken, The (7/8" axle hex wrench) C2040.02A8 is $6.70 list price. The whole kit (I don't know if it includes the pouch) is $24.25 P/N C2024.1AK and the pouch P/N C2000.1AK is $6.65 list. | ||

For what it is worth, you do not have to loosen up the rear axle, and subsequently the belt tension, in order to remove the muffler. Just get a long extension and you can remove the 2 rear muffler clamp bolts easily enough. Even Kevin said it is an unnecessary step when I talked to him after installation. I am very pleased with both the performance and customer service of the Drummer. I also installed an '07 airbox lid and a K&N air filter with the Drummer and these mods really helped the bike run better all around. |
