Picked up on 06 seat on e-bay cheap just to try it for a while. I'm taller, so I thought it would be worth a try. Well, after about a week on the 06 seat I have decided that Buell made it better in 07. The 07 seat is much more comfortable. |

"Reevaluate the '06 seat after a 300 + mile day" Absolutely impossible! I found the '06 was good for about 15 minutes then my arse was numb, my thighs were extremely sore from the seams and my back was starting to ache from trying to find a comfy spot on it. It was a completely useless seat all together. It's not designed to fit a human body. I can't imagine how you guys put that kind of mileage on it. My '07 is light years ahead of it in comfort and design. My wife says the rear portion is also far more comfortable on the '07. The only thing the '06 has going for it is the leg room to the foot pegs. I miss that sometimes, but then I remember the pain the seat caused. |

It is not the seams, it is the hard edge under the seam. I had a custom seat shop cut down the hard edge and replace it with soft foam, makes a world of difference. |

This discussion just shows why freedom of choice is what the world needs! My '06 stock seat is perfect. Done 700-mile days no problem. 28K miles total. Never HAD a better seat. Can't even IMAGINE a better seat. But human bodies are different, which is why seat shops are in business. P.S. This is like food. My wife taught me that a food isn't "good" or "bad" but it's whether you LIKE it or not. I am told that some people actually like yams, although I do not believe it. |

I have the 07 and the 06 low, comfortwise I like the 06 better but up front the 07 is way better. The 07 feels odd twords the back, I feel it is too high in the back, but I end up spending most of my time right in the middle. |

I can't imagine a better seat than the 06. |

I have the 06 low seat and actually like it because I can touch both feet flat to the grown with it, but for the long haul the stock 06 seat is the more comfortable seat. I just test rode the new Buell 07 with the new lower style (stock) seat and I didn't care for it. Just my opinion. |

I am told that some people actually like yams, although I do not believe it. Ever had sweet potato casserole? It actually counts as a vegetable even though it's about 50% sugar. Yummmy |

I have three seats for the Uly and to me the 07 Seat is the most comfortable, but I am on the short side of Uly riders. I have done 700 miles on the 06 Low Seat and it was comfortable too. The seam/hard edge of the 06 seat bothers me because I have shorter legs than the average Uly rider. Also Ulywife says the 07 is better on pillions. |

"The seam/hard edge of the 06 seat bothers me because I have shorter legs than the average Uly rider" I don't think it is a short leg issue. Dr. Greg is a smaller fellow (but possible not short legged) and he loves it. I have a 32" inseam and it ate me up while riding any type of distance. For me it was more like the seat was too wide and too soft causing the seams to dig in. I look at that seat in the garage and it boggles my mind how anyone is comfy on it. I think it is a combination of your width and seating position preference that causes the issue. To me the only physical way to be comfortable on the '06 seat is have a 12" wide crotch. Maybe I just don't have good birthin' hips like you guys. Thank god they came out with the '07 model and I didn't have to get my legs attached to the sides of my waist T-rex style. As far as yams go, I hate them except in the casserole that my wife makes. Gotta have the marshmallows in it. |

I have the '06 and '07 stock seats. I prefer the '07, but that is probably because it gets me a little lower. I found the '07 to be very comfortable on long trips (multiple 500+ mile days)! BTW, any long legged guys out there with an '07 that wishes they had the '06, I will trade straight up! |

I guess after 20+ years of semi daily bicycling my butt is so tough (or numb), that, any seat with more than 1/4" of padding, is like sitting on a Lazy Boy to me. I have both '06 and '07 seats. The '07 seat is great, for me, for the type of riding I do. Remember you can always stand up on the pegs and ride for a while if needed. Really freaks people in cars out when I stand up going 70mph. |

Really freaks people in cars out when I stand up going 70mph. Yeah, it really messes with people riding cruisers too! I used to stand up regularly on my City-X on longer rides, they usually asked if my butt was getting sore (it was), but I told them it was easier to release gas that way. I haven't felt the need on the Uly yet. If anyone is interested in trading an '07 seat for an '06 low, in faster orange of course, I'd be considering it. |
