I am going to do the TPS reset today. I get the whole backing out of the idle screw, but do I hook up the computer to the bike with the bike off or on? Running or not? Any other tips would be great. And yes I did buy the software. |

Hook up the computer first but don't attempt to connect via the software yet, back out the idle screw, turn the key on, put the run/kill switch in the run position, don't try to start the engine (won't idle anyway with the idle screw backed out) then connect with the software and do the reset. After doing the reset with the software, you can turn the idle screw back in enough to start the engine then set the idle for about 1100 RPM. BC Steve |

One of the things I learned was to make sure the idle screw is out far enough so that the butterfly valve truly closes. It will really "pop" when you open the throttle. This will ensure you are really at zero and make for a proper reset. Also make sure after doing the zero reset on the computer adjust the TPS to 5.1 to 5.5 and get the bike totally warmed up. After it is at 350 degrees set the idle screw like Stevem123 said. Good luck! |

Okay, did all that, just to make sure I did it right, on the program I go to the screwdriver(Active settings) and then click on the blue/Green button, then it counts down to zero then says passed. This is the reset? If that is it then I did it and it worked great. The bike sounds good, but it is raining so I could not test it. |

Yep! Sounds right. Amazingly simple once you do it the first time. Good luck and enjoy! BC Steve |

2008 and later Buell TPS Reset Procedure: For 2008 and later Buell twins it's even easier. TPS reset is built-in and simple. TPS Reset/Rezero for 2008 & later Buell XBike and 1125R/CR: To do a TPS reset on 2008, 2009, and 2010 Buell twins: 1. Switch the Run/Stop switch to the Run position. 2. Turn ignition key on. 3. With the engine off, rotate the throttle grip from the closed throttle position to the wide open throttle position and back to closed position 3 times holding the throttle grip against each stop for one full second. 4. Cycle the key off and back on. |
