First of all, I've had my Ulysses for a month now. Well I've owned it for a month and the dealer was fixing it for 1 week of that month. At 200 miles the front fork seals went out and I went to the garage to find a puddle of oil under the front tire. A week later I got the bike back and now tonight at 600 miles. I'm 50 miles from home and find oil dripping out of the rear shock. The bike has been babied so far and the suspension was set exactly as the manual directed. No wheelies and not even taken off paved roads yet. What is the deal?? | ||

The front is most likely a bike that was improperly put together. I would guess it has an improper level of oil. The rear could also have been stressed because of the front. In any event that is totally not right and you should involve Buell Customer support sooner, not later. | ||

I haven't heard of any other Ulys having shock or fork failures. I've been very happy with mine and I have over 16K miles on it so far. It handles over 500 Lbs of payload (me + wife & gear) with no problems. What's more amazing is that even with all that weight I can adjust the suspension to handle rough twisties and it does it well! Knock on wood here but so far so good. I hope they get it sorted out for you! Sounds like you got the needle in a haystack! Lucky bastard! LOL! BC Steve | ||

I lost left fork seal completely on my 06 Uly last week. I took it to a local suspension shop for repair and service since I have 7500 miles on it. It failed very completely... oil all over the front of the bike. I do ride in the dirt. Debueller also lost a fork seal. The forks are standard Showa so there isn't a big Buell influence into this type of failure I don't think.... | ||

I called customer service and got a file number. Then called the dealer so I could sit on hold for about 10 minutes while the receptionist kept coming back saying she was paging service but no one was answering. Then a few clicks and the disconnection sound. I decided to not call back then because I would have just started ranting and not gotten anywhere. I have decided to ride it and stop in with it to show the service guys and they can order the parts and call me when they get in. Hopefully that will keep me from being without a bike for another week or more. | ||

Talked to the dealer today and have an appointment for tomorrow to get it swapped out. They had a demo with only a couple hundred miles more than mine they are going to give me that shock so I won't have to wait or ride around on a bad one. Not sure how I feel about that but they're at least trying to get me back on the road quicker. | ||

Went saturday and talked to the guys in service. They decided they would just wait to do the swap and ordered a new shock. I also scheduled my 1000mi service for the same time. |
