I was looking at getting the carbon fiber cold air intake and airbox from American sport bike, and I was wondering about the effects of riding in less than perfect weather. Does anyone have one and confirm that it’s safe for the bike? Last thing I want is my new bike to drown in a thunderstorm. |

I chopped a hole in my plastic air box cover that sits underneath the pretty body cover, was riding in rain for about 4 or 5 hours straight while going around Lake Michigan at highway speeds I got a couple hickups but nothing serious, only one time I thought I was running out gas but it cleared when i cracked the throttle. Could have been bad gas, or water. But I don't think it is a problem with the windscreen and flyscreen in the way hard for much water to get in there unless you sit a long while i'd think. |

You'll have no weather problems with it. I do, however, recommend drilling a small weep hole at the back of the lower airbox to keep water from puddling in the airbox. Al |
