OK we know its coming. Anybody got any lead spy photos, artist concepts, or lowdown? I have already decided it is my next Buell. I just need to satisfy my curiosity until she shows up on the sales floor. |

That is just a Cannondale recolored. Did Buell buy out ATK because they bought out Cannondale.

Re-badging a defunct competitor's failed design really isn't Buell's style. I, for one, will lay down money that it will NOT be that, because that would be superlame. Nick |

dual sport? can we ride to the trails? Good question! If it's light, torquey, and street legal (without an altophobia-inducing seat height), it might find a home at my place. |

I just cannot envision someone going to a "Harley" dealer to buy a true dirt bike/Moto-crosser. We know the age structure of the "average" person coming into a Harley dealership...not really a dirt bike guy. The competition is stiff with the big 4 Japanese and KTM.. plus these companies have their act together. I bet the dealers are not going to be happy... as many don't really push Buells now let alone dirt bikes. Lets say cost is 5K per bike and they take four..thats 20K that might turn into dust catchers. My dealer still has old tuber Buells for sale.. This might cause some dealers to just drop the whole Buell line. I wish them all the luck in the world but it sure seems strange to me..the price better be right...because who is going to buy a "pig in a poke" when they can buy a known brand with many knowledgeable dealers and all the after- market parts available? It better be one great machine at a super price.. from a Uly/450KTM owner...my initial thoughts....I have been wrong before.... |

You'd be surprised. I think it's more of a stretch for a Harley shop to sell "sportbikes" than dirt bikes. A LOT of riders got their start on dirt bikes. Even Harley riders. |

ATK bought the remnants of Cannondale, not Buell. And Buell did not buy ATK. Also, the factory statements have all stated a race dirt bike. |

I agree a lot of riders did get their start on dirt bikes... me included..but are dirt bike buyers going to shop at a Harley dealer for one?.. let alone buy one?. The leather and tattoo crowd on Fatboys? The average person going into a Harley shop are not looking for sport bikes or dirt bikes.. Check out the audience at a Super Cross...do they look like people that would shop in a Harley store for a dirt bike? Many Harleys riders don't even know what a Buell is let alone a KTM EXC,Honda 450X or a Yamaha 450WR is..and don't want to know. I just think Buell is marketing an uphill battle at a Harley store..Good Luck..I wish them the best..as it is tough in the dirt bike world. I am not knocking Harley riders..as I have a 99 FXDX..my favorite bike. Just my thoughts..I have been wrong before...more than once.. |

I'd say there is . .

freetranslation.com: Buell announces: "The ours new market is the all-terrain competitive one" Harley-Davidson and Buell strong are pledged in the stretch the offer of the actual products to new categories of fascinated: for this aim on the all-terrain one" declared the president of the well-known business American motociclistica Erik Buell and added:" already spoke at our dealer of this project and have the intention of to be on the market with the new movement within the next two years. Some time does speaks some hypothesis of an "engagement" between the Buell and it the Austrian KTM, I brand very appreciated from the fascinated American. In the States the all-terrain one has a large one I continue and counts on an increasing number of fascinated-put into practice: it is calculated that parallel of 300.000 road motorcyclists, the fuoristradisti be at least the double one. |

I think the initial push will be from folks like me who have a street bike but want a 100% dirt or a street legal dirt capable bike to add to the stable. I WILL be adding a 450cc bike to the garage. I would LOVE to have it be a Buell. I would like a dirt bike a original as my street ride. The question I have is Buell planning to compete in the 450cc circuit? If so, what will be the banner color for the Buell "faithful"? Every other color is taken. Red = Honda Yellow = Suzuki Green = Kawasaki Orange = KTM Blue = Yamaha I can't see Buell becoming Team Pink! Lavender Warriors? Chartreuce Commandos? |

Hearing it's Rotax powered is a huge plus for me. We have a few ATV's with Rotax motors in the family and love them. I've always loved KTM bikes, just not their price. I love my Buell, but would have never considered a Buell dirtbike. I'm starting to change my mind now. |

Rotax is good...Aprilia uses Rotax motors...Mille/Tuono...If Buell is going to have a MX bike is has to be 450/250..no 600cc MXers...unless they have a 600 Dual Sport too. I think they should display the new bikes at Kroger, Hollister, The Gap, Burger King, Abercrombie...anywhere but a Harley dealer. This really goes for Buells too. Kind of tongue in cheek.. but true... |

+1 Went to the hardley stealer yesterday and did not see one Buell on the floor. I asked the sales guy if he still had the 06 Uly and he pointed over to the side of the store, in the back by the service dept. There were about 6 Buells there, among the used bikes????? Whats up with that? |

The write-up at SpeedTV said a 450 "competition" bike. Sounds like a motocross bike to me. I have no interest in that; I really enjoy trail riding. I also need a bike with a license plate for dual sport rides. Nevertheless I hope Buell does well with a dirt bike. If they do a true dual sport Buell dirt bike may be in the future. Until then my DRZ is doing just fine as a dirtier alternative to the Ulysses. |

The Buells were prominently displayed, out front of the store, on the sidewalk yesterday at California Buell/H-D.. |
