I just replaced my stock tires yesterday at 9k miles. While the shop was spooning on the new ones ( pirelli syncs ) I had them check the front rotor. They said it was near the service limit and needed to be replaced. I asked them to check it because the bike is pulsing heavily on hard stops. I'm surprised the rotor wore out so soon. I've read a lot of postings with little mention of rotors needing to be replaced. Are the wave rotors significantly better? or is there another choice? Any ideas on brake pads? Barry |

It's not the rotor...it's the crappy stock brake pads. Get a set of Lyndall's gold pads. I just put a set on for a guy yesterday with 55,000 miles on his XB9R...stock rotor. |

Ditto on change the pads. I would like to bet that your rotor is fine. |

It is the pads, but they do screw up the rotor. The Lyndal gold pads will make the pulsing better, but they did not eleminate it entirely on my bike. Perhaps they would have if I had changed to them sooner. Get the rotor changed under warranty. The put the gold pads on the keep the problem from comming back. |

Who sells the Gold pads? Just replaced my rotor at 17,000, warped. Might of had something to do with some woods riding where I got it pretty hot them seered it in some puddles.

I sell the Lydall golds. They are $59.95 retail and all BadWeb members get a 10% discount. Several people have gotten rid of the pulsing completely by switching. Email me at jcox@cycleconnectionh-d.com if you are interested. Josh |
