I have a race kit including the Buell muffler for my 07 Uly which I am going to have installed at my dealer.

The guys in the shop seem a little concerned though about the fitment of the muffler as they have not installed one on a Uly before. They expect it will rub on the swingarm.

What's the experince out there ? Will the Buell race muffler bolt up OK without any modification on an 07 Uly ?

Thanks for the input.

The only fitment issue is the kick-stand can just touch the left outlet of the muffler but it has not been a problem on mine. It clears the swingarm with no problems.

Mine fits just fine. If it rubs the swingarm, they are definitely having fitment issues just not due to the race kit.

My sidestand comes close to hitting, but it doesn't.

You should have no problems.

Here's another racekit user with no problems.
If the guys in the shop have it rub against the swingarm they should not be allowed to work there

Mine fits fine too. My pre-recall kickstand hit the left outlet edge. Hasn't since having the recall.

Mine's great. Oddly enough the kick stand hits more now than with the pre-recall stand. I'll try to post a pic here;

My kickstand lightly hits my stock muffler after the recall work.

They are few and far between these days, they were discontinued in May 2006, although oddly my pipe is dated June 2006. The last new one I saw on Ebay went for $1050, with used and usually dented pipes bringing $400+. If you are lucky you may be able to find some hole in the wall dealer with one in their back room.

I bought mine in August 2006, and called about 14 dealers before I found one.

I'm more very happy with mine!

The (before and after recall) stand hits the tailpipe slightly when swung back, doesn't rattle!

Bike seems to handle a variety of fuels, though seems happier (less pinging, slightly less grunt) on gasohol!

Daveymac,

To clarify what Paochow is saying, the Race Muffler and therefore the Race Kit is no longer available, but the Race ECM from the kit is still available by itself and works wonderful with a Drummer or Special Ops pipe. I've been sitting on a Race ECM for 5 months and finally got a Drummer ordered last week. More goodies, can't wait!!!

Thanks look at Drummer's page Just don't know if I want to cut up my stock pipe.
Would rather buy a replacement-food for thought, just bought the bike & this is a long way off.

My bike is less than a year old so I didn't want to lose my stock pipe in case of warranty issues. I purchased a core off Ebay and sent it in for the Drummer.

You guys are scaring me. I yanked my muffler and sent it to Mr. Drummer before I even thought of warranty issues. And I bought the two year extended warranty when I got the bike too.

I wouldn't worry too much. If you burn out your engine, I'm sure someone will trade a stock pipe for your drummer : )

Mizilus, chill man, no worries. Wouldn't affect the warrantee anyway.

If anything, the Race Kit is easier on your engine since it riches it up a bit. Lean engines run hotter.

My take on the Race ECU is that it is the way the bike should have been from the factory, but to meet EPA regs...we got the stock ECU instead.

Question?
Is it possible to tweak engine to run on 87 octane.

Why would you want to run on 87? To save an average of 70 cents per fillup? (3.5 gallons at 20 cent difference)

I can't speak for Daveymac, but down here in the desert (El Paso), a lot of the remote gas stations don't have premium. I end up carrying octane booster, just in case.
