I just picked up my new 07 Uly. About 20 minutes into riding it home I notice I miss a few shifts, felt like my foot slipped off the shifter. I look down and my boot is covered in liquid... not a good sign. I pull over and find that the center cover on the shifter side is gone and oil is sloshing out with the bike idling. First ride ends in a tow truck ride home. Hope it gets better. By the way, the 20 minutes was great ! |

That's a bummer. I just ordered an 07. Hope my first ride isn't like that. Keep us updated. |

Some people get their Uly's and have almost zero problems. It took me 9 months to smooth out my issues. I hope yours is an isolated incident (it probably is). Enjoy the ride. |

i would have to say that is a dealer prep problem. please don't blame the bike and if they don't pick up the tab and rub your nuts find another dealer |

It's two torx screws holding it in. More than likely someone got curious, got a phone call, and forgot to tighten it up. Tell them you'll take it as "slightly damaged" for a 20% discount off MSRP. |

I got 25,000km and nothing worth complaining about. (I'm sick of going on about that headlight globe) |

Yeah like that'll work! You're one cover, two screws, and an apology from a great ride. Orange, you get back to anyone about your vibes?? I'll back you up on that 100%. |

At the very least, take your incensed self down to the dealer and explain to them about first impressions of their work. Demand to have the bike gone over carefully by someone BESIDES the person who set the bike up (likely got distracted while checking the primary chain, at least they check!). I'm betting you get all that, and a gift card loaded with some farkle money to boot. Which would only be the right thing for them to do. Then go enjoy! |

As a dealer, yes, clutch adjustment and check is part of the PDI and that cover does come off during setup (at least your dealer did the work - some simply uncrate, install bars, install fuses, install fuel, and sell). Sounds like an easy flub - shouldn't have happened obviously, but either the Loc-tite tube was empty, or they got distracted, or something equally dumb. Simple, human mistake - please give your dealer a chance to make it right, and don't let it taint your impressions of what's been (for us) a very well-rounded vehicle. |

Bought my Uly two weeks ago and didn't get much riding in because the temps were below freezing. Got a call that the angle sensor recall needed done and went out to the garage to find a puddle of oil around the front tire. Both fork seals were leaking. They'll be keeping the bike for a week. After a little complaining I got a demo to ride until mine is done. Didn't even make it home and the rear fender fell off and got ground up by the rear tire. Hope it gets better. I will definitely be re loc-titing alot of my bike when I get it. |

6000 miles and 18 months and I still have a little bad taste. Some with the bike, some with the dealers. Most problems have been resolved except for the pinging. I do have a call in to customer service for this and waiting for a call back. I hope that this will be resolved. I want to see if customer service prefers or recommends one dealer over another to work with. I have three all about the same distance, but the one I thought had the best service put my front rotor on inside out and 180 degrees off when they replaced it. I know people make mistakes, but the manual says how to install it right next to the torque specs. I do love this bike though. |
