Ohhh my goodness. Just got back from a test ride and daayyuuum these lights are freaking bright. They are Soltek Fuegos, from Baja Designs. They are called off road race lights, and now I know why. Never...EVER look directly into the beam on these lights. They come with 100w H1 single element bulbs and the housings and reflectors have a two year warranty. These are real race lights and made of alloy with glass lenses, not some plastic wanna be light. They can be had from dunebuggy.com for 90 bucks each, and baja designs told me they can be had with black rings and lens protectors. I have seen bulbs in 55, 80, 100 and 130 watt power ratings. It actually hurts to be anywhere past perpendicular when looking at them. The reflector design really puts the stockers to shame. As soon as I can see again I will be ordering some nice 55watt bulbs, so these beeyatches will no longer be considered deadly weapons. Forgive me for not typing the install right now, as I am seeing serious spots. All hail the DeathRay. (Message edited by treadmarks on February 05, 2007) |

Question (out of curiosity) Any reason why you went with these lights, instead, of for example (as I've used them on my 4x4s) Lightforces? or any other for that matter? Nadim |

Cool, when you can see again get those install instructions and pics if any up. Can't wait I might actually go this route instead of putting aux lights on the bike. |

Tread, do your light have different reflectors? You can get the 55w version here for $89.99. http://www.stadiumyamaha.com/pages/catalogs/detail /16/186/377/23070/1/0/0/1/1/1/12/0/soltek-fuego-li ghts-.aspx (Message edited by lovehamr on February 06, 2007) |

Lovehamr, I am pretty sure Baja Designs is the sole source provider in the US, so no matter where you order them from, they ship from Baja. Baja's prices are about 20 bucks higher than the links we have provided. I am pretty sure that they are the same light even tho the part numbers are different. This is where I bought mine at. http://www.dunebuggy.com/shop/index.mp?szAction=vi ewItem&iItemID=979&szReturnTo=SUBCATV&iStart=0 In the additional comments section,I stated that I wanted 1 spot and 1 driving. I called Baja design the next day and followed up with them, where they checked the order and had to take out one spot and replace it with a driving.. |

Nadim Nadim, I have used Soltek race lights on other bikes and vehicles and was pretty pleased with their products. They make a great race light, and you can see them on vehicles that win races. I am sure Lightforce makes a good light, I just have no experience with them. |

Tread, You say that you got one driving and one spot light on your bike there, is the spot really long range with no side light spillage? Do you think that the driving light would be better in the fog/rain? I am thinking i want to put two spots on my uly but i'm wondering if my foreground lighting would suffer for it?? My main idea is that when i'm doing 80 down a dark highway at night I will be able to see and be seen further away but I still want to be able to see in the nasty weather... Your thoughts? |

Your thoughts? Ug, The spot is a pencil beam that does not put much light on the sides. The driving beam does put some light on the sides and also sends a beam straight forward. Right now I am only running one light at a time due to the 100w bulbs and the factory wiring. This morning at 500 am on the way to work in the rain, I did notice that the spot throws a considerable amount of light way forward of the bike. Only got up to about 90, but I do know now I can see way farther than the stockers. |

Thanks for the input I think I will do what you did order a spot and a driving light, but I think I am also going to order a hid kit for these so I can run them both at the same time without killing my electrical system... |

Ug, Baja Designs sells them with the HID race pack already installed. Apparently they are also only 399.00 each! https://www.bajadesigns.com/net/mainframe2.aspx?lo gin=YES&category=163 |

Wholly crap!! Looks like some serious glasses there. Did you say you were going to set it up so they are both on? With stock wiring you can try it by placing the dimmer switch in the middle. Can you weld with those things? |

It's funny. Our usual "ride leader" likes having me run "shepherd" because he knows when he sees my light that he has everyone. That and the Hi-Viz jacket. I can't even imagine what those would do. |

They would probably burn holes in the jacket of the rider in front of him (or at least warm him up). Then he will have to stop to help with the wreck that the guy in front is having because he looked in the mirrors and burned out his retinas. Tread, If your riding buddies are going to ride in front of you at night they will have to wear a welding lens in their goggles. |

That would explain the 3 inch chicken strips. If it weren't for the ocean, it would be like riding in Kansas. |
