Badwebbers, I posted this earlier this year but nobody could part with their ride. Now that the snow is arriving in CO maybe the situation will be different? Posted on Sunday, June 04, 2006 - 11:46 am: BadWebbers, I have been watching with interest as Caribou Luggage Systems has been developing panniers for motorcycles based on Pelican cases. These are really slick and have have the following features: 1. Easy on/off 2. Easy one key locking 3. A nicely designed frame that looks good when the bags are off !! 4. Lightweight easily replaceable and very durable Pelican case bags Check them out at: http://adventure-motorcycle.com/store/?name=Home I like the factory Buell bags but they are too fat for my taste and the Caribou System looks more durable. Roger Pioszak from Adventure Motorcycle Equipment is looking for someone with a Buell Ulysses in the Denver / Boulder area to work with him in developing the racks for a Uly. Anyone interested????? Please email Roger at info@adventure-motorcycle.com if you have a Uly, live in the Denver/Boulder area of Colorado and would like to help get this great luggage solution developed for the Ulysses. Happy Trails, WindRider |

Windrider, it's tempting, but... I have Uly bags, and it's 75* here today. 'Twould take a mighty act to pry my Buell loose from my hands.... |

Gotta love the mountains, and the semi arid environment. A weatherman's nightmare, but 70s in January are not impossible. Followed by 2 feet of snow of course. |

Someone please.... help this man out.. I would love some caribou cases for the Uly. The stockers...well... the Caribou beats them hands down. |

Yeah I'm about to order a set and make my own brackets for them. I really like these cases but just don't live close enough to Colorado to lend him my bike. |

Well Im in Broomfield and my salesman told me about Roger but Im not sure I want to put bags or anything else on my bike. I like the look of the buell cases better. Those other cases dont do it for me. Otherwise I dont know anyone else up this way that owns a Uly. |

Snow, You could always let him borrow your bike and send me the free bags... |

Soloyosh, Roger needs a Uly for 3-4 days best case, a week worst case. Snow, You could always just loan Roger your Uly for a week this winter and not even get the bags in the end. Do it for the common good of the Ulysses.

I wish I could figure out a way to go to Colorado for a week. Unfortunately, my responsibilities and the state of my bank account prevent me from being able to travel at this time. (I'm so broke, I'm having trouble paying attention) This is a golden opportunity for some Lucky Bastard. (Message edited by crusty on November 23, 2006) |

I like the look of this setup; when they have a product to sale I would be interested. |

Snowscum, I don't know but I doubt it. If you are interested in loaning your bike to the project please contact Roger directly via email at info@adventure-motorcycle.com or give him a call. He seems very approachable and is interested in providing another luggage solution for the Uly. |

OH, OK, OK... I emailed him. My price for doing so is to procure from you an admission that the Black Ulys are more beautiful and faster than the orangutan ones. |

Why would you want him to lie? |

Cool Red_Chili, That is great. Hopefully we can all enjoy another option in luggage possibilities thanks to your generosity. As far as the color thing goes I have never really understood the orange vs black debate. Black looks ultimately cool but it only has two states: Just washed or dirty. I live down a dirt road so I ride an orange one but I harbor no ill feelings for those who prefer the black and in fact I love the look of the Uly in any color... except that camo version which is just wrong. I say to each his own, if you like it black I will agree that black Ulys look great, but I will keep on riding my orange one. Happy Trails, WindRider BTW, the snow arrived here in Idaho yesterday. The Uly is stabilized and on the battery tender. So sad. I am going to go skiiing tomorrow to console myself. Life seems to be about making turns for me.............. |

As far as the color thing goes I have never really understood the orange vs black debate. It's just a fun thing. There is no malice intended. |

Well, somebody beat me to it! Roger reports that someone dropped off his Uly yesterday. So your luggage solution is close, and he is also making a top trunk arrangement. The funny thing is, I keep vowing never to own another black vehicle. But somehow a black Tacoma followed me home, and then the Uly. The Taco does look dirty, but the Uly just shakes itself like a wet black lab and looks spotless. Nice trick, that. |

Red_Chili, That is great! I am looking forward to seeing what Roger cooks up, especially with the top case in the mix. I carry tools on the Uly at work in a pelican case so maybe Roger can fix me up with a better solution that what I am using now for my tool case: a bungee net. Black is addictive, but with counseling you can be cured.... but with the money spent on counseling you could buy more black toys? It's all good. Headed up the mountain in an hour to carve some turns in the snow on the skis.
