anyone wondering about the 07 airbox being revised? If you've seen the pic, they added another smaller section of slits to allow more air flow. But a rather small total increase. nothing as large as the open airbox concept. I have tried the open airbox and the stock box and believe the open airbox provides more top end HP but sacrifices a little torque in the lower RPM band. I'm wondering if opening the airbox a little instead of a lot is a good compromise. It would be pretty simple to copy the 07 into the 06. It would be neat if the race ECM still operated the exhaust valve actuator. Since the aftermarket cans like the Drummer don't use the valve, you could design an airbox opening and controlled it with the exhaust valve actuator to allow a small opening on the airbox at low rpm and large at high RPM. |

Leave the cover off and hold your hand over the slits at low rpms. |
