http://www.harden-offroad.com/frameset.html Dang that looks fun. Just got back from that area this weekend in my truck, several hundred miles of awesome trails out near there. Could we get a more raked front end, or 19" rims or just sell it off for a better dual sport? |

I use a XR650L dual sport for rough off road work. It's amazing how much better it feels off-road compaired to the Uly. I also have alot more confidence on it as well. I'm also not at all afraid to lay it down either. (my Uly has never been down) I wouldn't hesitate at all to take the XR on any dirt bike trail. But it sucks on long pavement rides (more than 50 miles). If you can afford it, it's great to have both. BTW, XR650L's and KLR650's have been unchanged for over 10 years now and are quite reasonably priced when bought used. They are both excellent bikes. |

Well, you know my answer, do BOTH! My Uly is awesome for all manner of paved roads, and I've enjoyed it on many gravel/dirt roads as well. But for dirt work I really like my DRZ400S. All motorcycles require compromise; I don't think there is a really good "do it all" bike for me. But I'm very happy with a 2 horse stable. Regards, Jim in Santa Barbara |
