OK, no one has brought up the subject for a couple of days.

What's the word on the Buell taller screen? Has anyone tested it out yet? How does it compare to the others (ie, C Balies etc, etc)?

I gather from the other posts on the subject that longer isn't necessarily better (I've been telling my wife that for years but that's for another forum!)

Anyway any input would be great. I am 6'2" and I really get blasted on the chest.

I'm loving the laminar lip. It has done exactly what I wanted it to...taken the blast off my chest and put the helmet in nice clean air. Can't tell you anything about the Cee Baileys, Buell tall screen, etc.

I have ordered the Buell 4 over shield and will try that first. Figgered it would be easier to re-sell that then the Laminar Lip.

Oh Snub, let me count the "straight lines"! Out of respect, I am going to skip the comments. (But you are running out of free "Get out of jail" passes.)
BTW, I do not think the new taller Buell shields are out yet. I am also tall (6'1") and also interested in the on-going shield research our fellow Buellers are performing. Thanks guys!

Last week my dealer checked on the computer and said the 4" over would ship on the 15th of February.

I have the tall Cee Bailey's windshield. It is great, takes the blast off the chest at highway speeds. The only downside, I lost my orange flyscreen.

I have the tall CB also but the buffeting sounds like the space shuttle on liftoff. I calculate I will need to bolt together two tall screens, put on a pair of laminated lips and wrap the whole thing in
Saeng microswirl edging to get some peace and quiet.

For what it's worth, I drilled two 2" holes in the bottom of the windshield of my concours and it made a big difference in buffeting of my helmet. I'm thinking of adding 1 more hole as I still have to duck just a little to get to completely calm air. Before drilling the holes, I had to duck lower.

Yha, there is another issue here. I guess it's my helmet but I get alot of noise above 50mph or so. I have a Z1R ZRP-1. It's ok style and fit wise but like I said it's loud. At the IMS I tried on one of the Arai dirt bike style street helmets (I forget the model name) and I liked the fit but the sales guy said they are only offered in solid this year ( yes Slayer, black bike and colorfull helmet). Another consideration is that it gets kinda expensive to try different lids (not to mention having to keep them somewhere).

If your 6-2, the answer is a CB +12 cut 3" lower. Gives you the same as a +4 1/2 but wider that the stock issue, and it screws on.

Thanks Frank, good info. I failed to mention in the original post that I didn't want it to blow off at speed like others have.

How (with what tools) did you cut the plastic?

Thanks for the pass Slayer, I knew you would be all over that post!

After trying three different height windshields on my Triumph Spring I finally cam to the conclusion that the narrow width was my enemy and no amount of height was going to clean the air up. I very afraid the Ulysses design is also to narrow to tray and create a bubble behind.

Mike, somebody posted that Cee Bailey only had an oven big enough to cook a +18 inch windshield. Post
a picture and review of the big 22 when you get it.
Is it a standard or a euro cut?

IIRC all the Cee Bailey's screens are 3" wider than stock. Not a huge difference, but any little bit helps.

Javadog,
It will be a standard cut. They had to make a new form to fill my request for the bigger shield. The first form would go to 18". From what they told me there is one person after me that wants one so far.

Snub, I would consider trying that Cee Bailey tall bolt on shield, but God would not forgive me for removing that beautiful ORANGE fly screen installed by the Buell Masters!

Did 665 miles of 2-up riding with the laminar lip this weekend. Worked great. Minimal head buffeting with my wife behind me. Stock screen created a ton of buffeting with someone riding on the back. I am very pleased with my purchase of the laminar lip.

Co2Bruce,

Lets hear it, what do you think of the lip?
Give us some details.

Put it on and didn't get a good chance to really check it out. I installed it at the very top of my windscreen, and it was bending really far. I was afraid it was going to break. I know that can't be right. Will experiment some this week and let you know. I find the bike stock has very little turbulence on my head. Would like to get some wind off my chest and keep the head buffet free.

That's exactly what I want. Move the wind blast up to my upper chest or shoulders and keep my head in the breeze. Right now, the wind is hitting me at the bottom of my sternum.

Received my Laminar Lip last Thursday. I'm 5-9 (32 inseam) so I mounted it fairly low. Took a 300-mile ride Sunday into some fierce wind, and the LL works great! I didn't have to scoot back on the seat hardly at all to "balance" to wind force. To me that's a pretty good indication of its effect. The wind was hitting me right at the base of my helmet, just perfect! I'm definitely satisfied. Also, it preserves the "naked" feel of the bike; I think a tallish windscreen would somewhat change my perception of the Ulysses. No problems with deflection of either LL or stock windscreen.

Here is a picture of mine (still full of bugs from this weekend's trip). I originally mounted mine up high near the top and noticed that there was a lot of flexing. I moved it lower to where it is now and it works well.

How do those mount, Sticky tape? Not that it would be a problem but would it hold when it gets to 105F outside? L.L. has a good rep. so I guess they hold. Just thinking out loud.

Dr. Greg, do you notice any difference in noise level from stock? I have the Cee-Bailey +2.5 and I'm very satisfied with the level of protection. It sounds very similar to the L.L. My only minor complaint is the noise level is a little higher. No buffeting at helmet level but it is noisier. Aeholton says the noise level is very low on the L.L., comparable to or lower than stock. What do you think?
I'm trying to justify spending $90.00 for lower db.
