Does anybody know of a throttle lock that will work with the hand guards on? Searching the archives didn't reveal any answers. |

The unit is adjustable as to tightness by using a screw driver on the adjuster located on the thumb piece. I didn't use the retainer clip. I cut oof the small lip on the piece that the clip would normally attach. Then I drilled a small hole in throttle housing and Vista Cruise and attached it with a small nut/bolt.

Okay, i understand what is up now (I think). You need to cut off part of the grip flange equal to the width of the Vista Cruise. A good tip I heard was to put grip in freezer for a while and then cut it. Notice how thin the flange is in the photos. Frank (Message edited by ftd on February 03, 2006) |

Frank. Its not just the grip flange but the switch housing and under the grip is the hard plastic throttle sleeve, there is no room for movement, and that little space is too tight. |

I remember that ridge on the inner sleeve. I just put the Vista Cruise over it, attached it to the switch housing, and then fine tuned the Vista Cruise friction. I would go out and look at mine and take better pics but I sold it to a guy in GA on Wed. Frank |

Havnt sold yet but i am thinking about it. I think i wpuld rayher have a cruiser, and then buy a KLR, I dont like the uly at all for off roading and if im not going to use it for that then i might as well get rid of it and buy a lighting long. If i could have one of every bike i wanted i would keep it but that isnt reallistic for me. |

No No No The Vista Cruise was on my X1 (which I sold on Wed.). I won't get my ULY from Dave until May and I will not be selling it! Frank |

I've been thinking of buying a dual sport or dirt bike for the off road cravings. The Uly is my cruiser/commuter/sportbike. My dad had the same feeling after he bought his FZ1, so he bought a WRF450 and a street legal kit. |

I have 1990 DR650 but after spending 2000 to get the engine rebuilt. it blew up 2 months later, so i am missing the off road scene. Ive always liked the KLR especially the year 2000 love that military grean. |
