They were able to set my bike up so that I can go get it a 6 tonight. I'll be riding it home in the cold and in the dark. Tomorrow it is supposed to get to almost 60. Breaking in time. |

Black or Orange, I don't think I've ever had such a hard decision on which one I'd want for me, when I'm ready to buy it. |

I went and paid for it and rode it home and had one heck of a time keeping it under 3500 rpms. Now get this: They threw in a 24 hr rental certificate to be redeemed by June 2006 and that's got to be worth 100 bucks. So now my wife can try out any of their Harley rental bikes for free. And they gave me a Buell t-shirt, Buell tie-downs, and a holiday tank Christmas ornament set in it's own glass faced wooden case. The Black Uly with full bags installed cost me 11500 out the door. No other fees at all. Oh yeah, they saved me the Buell side panels off the shipping crate. Those things are big and I'll have to go back and get them in the van. Well anyway, I'm now part of the Buell fraternity and loving it. One other thing is that they told me that the Black color is selling better for them. They have an Orange on the floor that came in with mine that hasn't been sold yet. Another Black that is on order is pre-sold. |

What a deal you got! Congrats as well. I have to admit I scavenge for anything marked "Buell" and I'm wondering what the side panels from the crate look like? Are these a "hot" item? If I go back to the dealer and ask for the next set are they going to look at me like I've got 2 heads? Thanks |

Wow, this is driving me nuts! I ordered my Uly 2 weeks ago, it's supposed to get in December 23rd. Maybe it'll have a bow on it. |

Congrats Glider, your going to love your bike. I went with orange, but that's at least partly because my girlfriend is a Law Enforcement Officer and she wanted me to be more visible. BTW, you will really get a laugh the first time you look down into a suv. Darrell |

My solution to the color choice issue. I got the first one available at the local dealer. I'll get part number for the other color flyscreen and intake cover, and the windshield mounting bosses from the parts manual, and BAM. A stealthy Black beast for sneaking up on unsuspecting race replica bikes. A loud orange bike for the commute to the office! Oh yea Glider -- Congrats. I have the XB12X and an FLTRI and they get along well together :-) Cheers (Message edited by 2hogs on November 23, 2005) |

Hey Glider - congrats on your new Black 12X. I have one too so I know how you feel. Good luck on staying true to the "break-in" and 3500RPM. It really comes alive above 4500RPM. That is a great deal you got too. |

I'm going to break it in the Motoman method. Anyway, thanks for all the well wishes. Apparently one of you guys read this and emailed me about the dealer. I answered back and good luck. |

Motoman for me too. Once mine is fully warmed up, I'll be running it hard and engine braking back down over and over again. Wheeeee! LOL! |

I'd start with a black bike to get the black seat. Then if I wanted I could get the orange body pieces. The black seat will look fine with the orange parts, whereas the other way around ... not so much. Just my .02 Henrik |

My bike is going to be orange. I'm not sure I'm going to like the color, so if anyone wants to trade, let me know. I just might swap parts with you. |

Isn't the diversity great? I loved the orange and black seat, liked the orange airbox cover, hated the orange flyscreen. I liked the entire look of the midnight black but I worried some about being less visible. Read here how some bought the only Uly available (black) then got the orange parts from the factory. Three weeks ago I took a black one before it was uncrated while the orange one is still in the showroom |

Hey I would trade a Black seat for an orange one. I like the black bike but it would look so good with just the orange seat. Let me know Chad. Hey you have a ball on that thing. By the way I used the Motoman method also and I did it with 2 up to make it easier to load up the engine without going to damn fast. Doesn't use any oil at this point about 2600 kms. Sadly it is getting to be winter in Saskatchewan. Come on summer I know you are just around the corner. |
