Stock Corbin Buell Low seat As you can see from the pictures, the stock is tallest, followed by the Corbin and then the Buell Low. Hope this helps |

Nice pictures. I think I need to take some with me sitting on the passenger seat, still flat footed. LOL! |

My guess for Dave's inseam is 31". Anyone else? |

Brotherbuell, The low seat is available; check the other threads. I think Dave already sold 4 low seats yesterday. Lowflyer, I'll bet that's a real good guess for Dave's inseam. I'm a 30" and I was reaching just a little more than shown in photo 1 when I tried a Uly with a standard seat. |

I just got one of Daves low seats an hour ago and I have the Corbin and stock seat at home. I will try to get some more pics to compare them. My guess is that Dave has a 30.875" inseam . |

Thanks Whodom. I caught up with the threads. I've been waiting for this for so long I couldn't control my fingers! |

Yes, they are available. I have 2 Black ones left in stock. Lead time for more is 30 days! Only 197.95 thru me. For riders that got their Uly from me the price drops to 186.95(15% discount for a year with bike purchase) I think I'm about a 31-32 inseam. |

Hello Dave, The pics are great. But someone needs to log some miles on them and provide us with some feedback on the factory low vs. the Corbin. Regards, Jim in Santa Barbara |

Dave, With all the bikes you are selling, could you polish those boots. You know there are a lot of Vets on this forum. |

Jim, Well it's not going to be me! It's 25 out and snowing sideways here! Dragon, Funny you mention the boots. Kandie's new dog( he is her dog when he is bad, mine when he is good) ate one of my logger boots on Sunday. Not that they has any polish on them either but they were in better shape then the ones I have to wear til my new boots get here. I never thought it would be hard to find "logger" boots in Wisconsin since "logging" is a huge business here. I went to the store that sells Red Wing,Carolina,Georgia and LaCrosse boots, all of these companies make logger boots. The guy didn't even know what they were. Kind of like going into a HD/Buell dealership and asking about Buells I guess? Anyway I have new boots coming. |

Either I'm still growing or there has been some settling of the seat after 1000 miles as I can now get both feet flat if I really stretch with my 32" inseam. And forget the loggers boots - you need to get you some of these! (Tanker boots) About $80 through AAFES Don |

Don, I think the seat breaks in a bit and the suspension does as well. Still, with my Ulysses I have to use a pair of work boots. I can't get my Sidi's to articulate downward enough. Hopefully with a low seat I can start using them again. BTW my Sidi Vertebra II's have proven to be fabulous boots year round. I've ridden in snow and on 100++ deg. days and they've been great. Also for extended time in downpours at freeway and my feet stay completely dry. Really a good product, hopefully the low seat will get them back in action. Regards, Jim in Santa Barbara |

Hoooah, I used to have jump boots back in the Corps. I remember wearing them without socks on long humps in the bush and not getting blisters. |

As I have posted before I have 30 inch inseam and a Corbin, but had it made on the stock pan as it sets about 1/2 inch lower than the Corbin pan, I will take and post a pic. We sold a ULY to a guy who can stand flat footed and have room under his butt. He had to have been 6-3 or so . ...Terry |

I agree with Jim_sb. We need owners to log some miles on the Corbin and Buell low and provide comfort comparisons. Cheers |

I'm 6'5" and can stand flat footed with plenty of space between the seat and my backside. In fact, I can sit on the REAR seat and still be flat footed. The Uly is the answer to my prayers. A bike that fits me, yet is still decently sporty. Those short of inseam have a plethoria of choices. Man, how I wish I could fit on a regular sportbike. Never have figured out how the media and others claim a sport bike is uncomfortable when they have a 29 or 30" inseam. They can't be any more uncomfortable than I am on a sport tourer, only an ST bike weighs about 200lbs more and has a lower power to weight ratio. In fact, ST bikes usually only have an inch or two more legroom than a sport bike. As much as I've lusted over an RC51, Superhawk, Ducati Superbike, or other sport twin...I just can't stand riding them for more than a few miles. My poor knees start aching from being folded up. Buell and Ducati are the only manfacturers making a sport oriented bike that fits tall people. I have no desire to go off road, so they can keep the 19" tires. Thank God for Erik Buell and the Uly. I got the Buell low seat (thanks Dave), the Corbin and the Stock seat. Just got the low seat on and I have done about 50 miles so far and I am pleased with it. I did have a problem with the cover on mine but I have contacted Appleton and they are going to get me another one. I will be doing a long ride on Saturday but my first observations are: 1) It is slightly easier to reach the ground than with the Corbin seat. Daves photo shows that well. I think it feels about .5" lower than the Corbin but this is because it is a little softer up front. This also makes it a little more comfortable if you are sitting all the way forward. 2) The rider seating area is smaller than the Corbin. The Buell low is about 14" from the front of the seat to the start of the rear transition and the transition is about 2" deep. The Corbin is about 15.5" from the front of the seat to the start of the rear transition and the transition is about 1.5" deep. This makes the Corbin feel better for larger riders or if you want more room front to back. I like the size of the pocket on the Buell low better personally. This also changes the size of the pillion so if you are going to carry a passenger keep this in mind that the Buell low has more room for them. 3) The seat cover is not the same material as the stock Buell seat which was a little disappointing because I like their material. The low has a more traditional vinyl with a pattern in the rider area. 4) The low seat has less foam so you feel the heat from the fan a lot sooner than with the stock seat. It gets very warm. 5) I think you feel less vibration with the Buell low than with the Corbin. The firm Corbin foam transfers more vibes through the dense foam than the Buell. I think the fact that the Buell low has a gel insert under the foam on top of the seat pan helps to deaden the vibes. I am surprised they don’t market it as a gel seat? 6) I think the Corbin looks better but I think I like the Buell low better for me. |

Hello Speedstar, Great info. How does the size of the Buell low rider's area compare vs. the Buell stocker? Jim in Santa Barbara |

It is basically the same footprint but it is more defined because it is recessed into the foam about 1.75" more. That makes the "pocket" look smaller but it is about the same size. The Corbin has a much larger feel to the rider area because the transition was moved back about 1.5" more than the Stock or Buell low. |

Daves, Will the Buell Long's seat work on the ULY?? I sat on one in Rapid City and it was very nice and comfortable. (Message edited by electraglider_1997 on November 18, 2005) |

No, the long seat will not work on a ULY |

I like the looks of the Buell seat the most. I like the material on the stock seat but I will sure be glad to get rid of those seams. |

That is another benefit to the Buell low, no seam on the edge. |

Speedstar, What's yer inseam? Any leg discomfort? Re: more bend in the knee? Even though I'm fairly comfortable with the reach, my wife wants the low saddle so I can more readily flat-foot it. Will I notice the difference after, say, a 400-miler? Also, has anyone noticed any 'settling' of the seat/suspension after the first thousand or so miles? Steve Gear up! |

If you can look past the scuff marks on the bike, I did receive the low seat today. Here is an Orange/Black low seat mounted and a comparison picture of my own. Standard Seat. Low Seat A better look at the low seat. Reach with the standard seat. No comments on the white socks, they are hiding the brace and wrap on my ankle and foot. Sorry about the shadows. Here is the low.

Wasions - I have a 30" inseam and I still have my heel off the ground about as much as Dave S does in the Corbin photo at the top of the thread with My Buell low. I have no problem with leg discomfort. It fits me well. I did 150 miles today and it did great. The pocket is a little more defined because it is cut down into the foam and I feel more heat with the foam being thinner but I can live with it to get a better reach to the ground. |
