Some of us occasionally ride 2 up. One of the features that drew me to the Uly, was it's supposed 2 up comfort. Our previous bike was a sport tourer, a Ducati ST2. Yesterday my wife and I put abit over 300 miles on the Uly. From a drivers perspective, the bike handled the added weight well. Handling wasn't effected and it still pulled over 50 mpg. The added weight sagged the suspension abit more making it easier to handle at stop lights. Previously she had been fatigued and tired at those distances. Not yesterday. At the end of the day she remarked "what a great day" it had been. Mission accomplished. M |

Good report Milar. I did a demo ride two up and have the same impression although not a long ride. We compared it to a 3 day trip on a Road Glide. I did two lane, gravel and interstate roads, all good on the Uly. I can't wait for my Uly, hopefully next month, trading Glide for it. |

Thanks for the report Milar! Very interesting indeed. Coolice, I'm *attempting* something very similar. 2005 FLHRS for a Uly without getting hosed. G2 |

Coolice, Good advice (I've done business with DaveS) but the distance is a definitive limitation. G2 (Message edited by bigdaddy on October 02, 2005) |

I know the distance is an issue but when the dealer who sold you the bike won't do the trade what choice do you have? Especially when you buy a bike and express that when a new Buell comes out........ Call DaveS! (later in the week tho, he's goin for deer I think) |

Well, I always try and help my friends out :-) Have you been looking in my /etc/hosts file? Did Tilley's not offer you a good deal, or have you not asked yet? |

I *thought* I had something worked out with them, but I was obviously mistaken. Still not real sure what happened or maybe what didn't happen. /etc/rc2.d/S76addroutes G2 |

Bigdaddy- your experience parallels the one I had....call DaveS. He WILL resolve it. Has the mothership said you can't trade "down" to them Buells? Hmm very interesting...... |

Continue with this, does this mean a car dealer(s) who sold you a suv for $xx,xxx won't trade you for a high mpg "lessor" model that costs less $$? Me personally, H-D just isn't my thing, I don't need the bling to ride, I RIDE a Buell and I'm proud of it and LIKE it! So when I want to trade it back and I am told NO,.....WHY? Call DaveS....... |

I've not been turned down, but I have been pushed to the end of the line. I was a bit surprised because I've bought a number of motorcycles from the place I'm dealing with. I'm taking a different approach now and I'll be trying to find a buyer for the Road King -- as much as I hate the whole process of selling anything. I have to get rid of a bike to make room for a new one. G2 |

You'll probably make more $$ if you sell it yourself anyway. It's just a pain. /etc/ssh/ssh_host_key |

Milar, Good report and I agree. I picked up my Uly yesterday and rode with the wife from Goldsboro to Grifton (40 miles). The bike handles great two up. The extra weight is no issue and you are right about lowering the bike. The Uly rides like a touring bike in comparison to the M2. I still have to set up the suspension to my weight, but it handles great and rides great so not in any hurry. As far as for room, Krisit said she had to hold on the the handles during braking so she did not slide forward and hit me. It has lots of room for two. Greg, go to Durham. Shelton's other Ulysses is in Durham. I do not know what your deal breaker was with your dealer, but you can try Shelton's out. |

Jim, Yes, it surely is a pain and I just hate dealing with it -- you're right about the $$ upside of the deal. /usr/lib/uucp/Uutry !! !n Ken Thompson's the man 'eh? Carlos, I may have the opportunity to drop in on Shelton's this coming Saturday. Never hurts to ask a few questions does it :-) Appreciate the heads-up. G2 |

Jim, Uutry is a shell script that is used to invoke uucico to call a remote site. You don't know that because it's fricking useless ('.') G2 |
